It was different.
The moment Zein's lips touch him, Bassena could feel it was different. Rather than the usual display of lust and hesitation, there was another kind of desire contained within that kiss.
Those lips were trembling, ever so slightly, just like the hands holding his face. Bassena had no idea, just how long their lips were pressed together. It felt long and short at the same time, however weird it might seem. It was long enough for them to end up on the bed, lips still locking, and short enough that they felt a pang of loss when they parted.
When Zein pulled away, the blue eyes were filled with so much complexity. That usual fear, the rare display of vulnerability, but also affection, adoration, and something that Bassena had always wished he could see; certainty.
