It had been two days since Dante had left his room after the battle. Carrick brought his breakfast up to the bedroom. There was no answer when he knocked on the door. Even after knocking a second time, no response was received.
"Carrick!"
The butler jumped, and the silver tea service rattled on the tray when he heard a curt shout behind him. It was the Count.
"Where is my tea?" He demanded loudly. "I have been waiting in the dining room for over an hour."
"Please forgive me, your Grace. I was unaware you were taking your meal downstairs," said the butler.
He could see Dante's patience was wearing thin, and the day had not even begun. Carrick watched as Dante turned and stormed down the hall in a rage, running into the maid. She was there to clean Rose's room.
"What are you doing?" he scowled at Dahlia.
"Cleaning the Contessa's room, your Grace." The maid responded.
