Kane and Colin were never happier to see the statues of the lions of St. Mark at the front gates of the Mansion. It meant they had finally arrived at Thorn Manor. The journey there from Northbrook had been arduous; between the hurricane-force winds and waist-deep snow, they could not walk any further.
The white-out conditions made it impossible for them to fly using their wings. It would toss them all about, plus they could see nothing through the clouds and blinding snow. They would literally fly blind.
