Rose quickly retorted to his remark. "And you swore on your honor never to harm me..."
"I laid my heart at your feet, little Lark, and have tried to uphold my commitment. I can tell you're mad, but I'm asking you for a chance to explain."
He pulled the sleeves up on his tunic, and she could see the deep, red puncture marks her fangs had left in his skin.
Rose's breath caught in her throat, and she brought both hands up to stifle any further sound, overwhelmed by what she had done. She realized he was only defending himself from her attack.
Rose's eyes scanned over Christopher's arms, taking in the sight of the marks, the bloodied and bruised skin, and her lips tugged downward in a frown.
"It's all my fault. I'm responsible for this happening to you.... "
"Mhm…." The Lord hummed, nodding his head.
