As Dante stared down at Magnus' corpse lying on his couch, he suddenly developed a headache that hurt his eyes. The monstrous man couldn't have been easily killed. Lord Thorn must have somehow reached him. Dante had a feeling that someone had helped Christopher figure out how to undo the mirage spell. His well-laid plan to slowly torment Rose into madness now lay dead on the couch before him.
As a result, he was left faced with cleaning up the mess and devising another way of getting to his daughter. A heavy sigh came from Dante's lips as he closed his eyes and pinched the skin above the bridge of his nose with his fingers.
"Carrick!" The Count's voice boomed from the parlor.
The butler. Carrick Hunter entered the room immediately after being summoned by the Count.
"You beckoned, your Grace?" he asked Dante.
