"I-I-It's terrible! She is… The L-lady—I have…never." Helen's eyes were glassy and filled with tears as she struggled to express what she had witnessed. Her voice faltered as she recounted the sight of Rose to Lady Elizabeth.
"She has been subjected to extreme physical brutality in the past. That woman's body is marred with marks and scars. She must attire herself in dresses that obscure her flesh fully. She will give people around her a fright if they see her that way."
Lady Harvey hastened to the restroom to uncover what Helen was babbling on about. She lightly tapped at the door and announced she was entering.
"It's me, Lady Rose. May I come in?"
She caught a meek response from the other side of the door, "Enter."
Lady Harvey slowly opened the door to find Rose wrapped in a crisp white towel, applying perfume from the selection on the bathroom counter.
"Mmm…That scent smells divine on you," she said, smiling at Rose.
