There was complete silence in the parlor as Lord Alexsander waited on Duchess Fiona to speak. He could see the tremendous turmoil in her expression. The features of her face almost twisted in anguish as she fought with what to say or do at the moment.
Kane heard her take a deep breath.
"When do you plan on his dishonorable discharge?"
He answered her swiftly, "Today, as soon as my meeting has finished with you and the current commander."
She gave a slight nod. Fiona's eyes held nothing but a vacant stare as she looked down at the Persian rugs scattered about the room. She spoke in an almost pleading tone. "I visited my son yesterday evening. He was scared. I watched him shake and cried. Pierce is sorry for what he has done."
