Kane stood on the second-floor balcony watching the repairmen. He heard the hand saw as it sliced neatly through the wood and the vibrations of the hammer as the men pounded the balusters into the floor and set the new hand railing in place. He looked out over the edge and saw dozens of military officials milling about, and Duke Pierce's family amongst them. Their expressions were one of sorrow and loss.
He watched as Sir Bryson and Deacon, his son, gathered everyone together to move them along to the parade grounds. It would not be long now, and the Rogue's March would begin.
