Chapter 7 - 1.6 Playing With Her Enemy

Gray took a seat next to her daughter and drew her into his embrace.

"Don't worry, we'll deal with him."

Camilla looked up.

"Really?"

Aeron said with a vicious smile:

"We'll even let you play with Caspian before we kill him. Would you like that?"

Camilla nodded with a bright smile.

Gray smirked and wiped her tears.

"We'll start by refreshing everyone's memory, about what kind of person his father was."

Camilla smiled mischievously.

Caspian opened his eyes when he heard footsteps. He stood up and followed the emperor when he entered his study. He smiled at Drea when he was closing the door, and he smiled back.

When he turned around, the emperor was leaning back in his chair, looking at him with his usual cold eyes.

Caspian stood at the side uncomfortably. Salvatore looked at the bag in his hand and ordered:

"Have a sit here, and show us what you brought."

Caspian took a seat in front of the desk and pulled out a few items from his bag. After explaining what all the items use, he looked at Salvatore.

He decided to go simple. There's a reason the people from this universe live that way, and he won't change that.

So he used a cellphone that will only allow you to call and sent text messages. He will not create Wi-Fi or a computer.

He added essentials like pens, watches, and robes made of cotton since everyone only wears hemp, except the rich who wear silk.

Furthermore, he also included feminine products for women. It will go fast, and he will make a fortune. Over time, he'll add more items. He already patented all his "inventions" to make sure no one will sell cheap copies.

He was surprised by how easy it was. Then again, they believed he wouldn't be capable to do anything with it.

Salvatore grabbed one of the cellphones and asked:

"With this, we can talk with anyone who has a cellphone?"

"Yes. Once you have one, you'll be charged a monthly stipend to connect with anyone you wish as much as you'd like."

He made sure they would only need a cellphone with a number already provided. It will make things simpler. Then they'll pay a monthly fee to text and call.

Salvatore nodded and asked:

"Do you have other ideas?"

"I do, but I wanted to first start by selling those items before expanding."

Initially, you have to create a client base, then when you drop new items, they'll all run to get their hands on it. His shop will be the most popular. Salvatore said:

"We'll need the blueprint and recipes for all your items to make sure we can replicate them."

Caspian said:

"Your majesty, I'd like to supervise every aspect of the production and distribution."

Salvatore asked:

"Do you not trust our people?"

Caspian answered:

"I do, but this servant's name will be written on that shop and I want to make sure everything goes perfectly."

"You wish to use your name?"

Caspian nodded. Salvatore simply looked at him, but it was clear he believed it was a mistake. Caspian tilted his head.

"You believe I shouldn't, your majesty?"

He knows full well why Salvatore believes it's a mistake, but as soon as people see the items in his window-shop they'll shop to their heart content. Salvatore said:

"Your name is synonymous with betrayal."

Caspian asked:

"Does his majesty believe the same?"

When Salvatore didn't answer, Caspian felt the original's anger welling up in him.

Even if Celio told him he would feel the original's feelings, he didn't think he would feel it this deeply. In a way, it's a good thing, it's like a compass. That way, he'll know if this is something the original would or wouldn't do.

It allows him not to be detected as a parasite by the universe. Caspian filled his back with all the items.

"Thank you for listening to this servant, and I apologize for wasting his majesty's time. It won't happen again."

Caspian stood at the side again with the bag at his feet. Salvatore looked at him. Caspian was looking ahead, and he could tell Caspian was angry.

He shouldn't be this sensitive, he only said that to help him. The entire empire believes his father defrauded the empire, if he opens a shop in his name, no one will visit it. No matter how remarkable his creations are.

Caspian should be patient and work in the shadow first. When they'll be unable to live without his creation, then he'll show everyone that he is behind every product. Then no longer will his name be synonymous with betrayal.

He looked at the cell phone in his hands, Caspian forgot to take back and put it in his drawer before resuming working.

When the emperor finished showering, the maid dressed him. Caspian, who was standing at the side, felt like shooting himself. He doesn't wish to go a fucking play. Now he dislikes Camilla.

He had nothing against her until she proposed to go to the theater.

Even if he doesn't prefer to go, he can't wait to see tonight's performance. The timing is so perfect. He never met people as pathetic as the Ellis household. They already killed the original's father and took everything he owned, including his ancestral home, and now they want to take his life.

He'll not only get revenge, but he'll take back that home and all their belongings. He'll use Salvatore for that. Or what's the point of having an emperor in your pocket? As Salvatore was getting dressed, he was peering at Caspian.

He was glancing down. He still looked sad after what happened. Indeed, his father's culpability was never proven, but as soon as the rumors spread, they deemed him guilty. He doesn't want people to judge his shop before they even tested his product.

He can tell that this is important to him. The fact that he wants to be in charge every step of the way proves it. They just need to find a middle ground. When Salvatore was dressed and styled, the maids left. Salvatore walked to Caspian.
