“Welcome…” I managed to say after recovering from my initial shock.
Jessie and Salena continued smiling brightly at me. I found myself smiling at them before inviting them into my room.
“I’ll never get used to how big this place is…” Jessie said with a wistful sigh.
“It really is too big,” I readily agreed after closing the door.
“Sorry for dropping by so suddenly but we did want to surprise you,” Salena said apologetically.
“It was an exciting kind of surprise. Don’t worry about it. Thank you for dropping by,” I said as I gestured for them to sit on the sofa.
The two girls hesitated a little as they turned to stare at each other. I couldn’t quite understand the silent message that was communicated between them.
“Is something wrong?” I asked.
“Umm…the thing is…” Salena murmured before looking at Jessie as if begging for her help.
