"It is what people call being polite. Obviously, you don't know how that works," she said while glaring at him.
Alec didn't say anything and just sat on the sofa.
Vivian returned at the same time Lucas did, and the man told them to go upstairs because the priestess would meet them.
Lucas led them inside a room where there were shelves at the sides filled with books about spells, racks filled with bottles of medicines, glass tubes with herbs, and other strange things.
In a far corner near the window covered with a dark curtain, a middle-aged woman was sitting. She wore a brown collared dress and her hair black as ebony was done in a neat updo.
"Aunt Priscilla!" Vivian went to embrace the woman and kiss her cheek.
"It is not the time of the year yet, so I wonder what brought you here," the priestess said, her tone holding warmth.
