After changing into her nightdress, Lauren went out of the closet and found Alec reading paperwork on his table at a far corner of the room. She didn't say anything and went to the bed.
However, staring at him with a load of papers on his desk, she grew curious.
"Do you usually have a lot of case files and other paperwork to read because you are the head of the defense ministry and part of the council? Don't you have subordinates to help you with that?" she asked while laying on her right side, facing Alec.
Lauren never worked in the council or any sector of the administration so she had little to no idea. She figured it must be hard though.
He glanced at her, raising a brow as if wondering why she was suddenly curious.
