Henry wanted nothing more than to be able to outwardly show his familiarity with the princess but he knew it wasn't allowed. If he could just make the way they felt about each other public then perhaps people would stop approaching the princess and striking up a conversation.
The knight tried to pretend he wasn't stealing glances in the direction of the princess but it seemed each time he looked up there was a new knight trying to gain the favor of the Royal Family and catch the princess's eye.
He wanted to be close to her again but soon after the feast was coming to an end, a priest came into the banquet hall and started leading prayer and blessings for the knights who were going on the expedition. He prayed for safety and prosperity for the commander and Henry. He even lit candles and started burning some kind of healing and longevity concoction that reminded Henry of the time with the old healer.
