Chapter 57 - We Made It

The group of knights they were with previously arrived on horses and Henry noticed they had brought Lilly along with them. He was grateful to see his horse, not having many other opportunities to ride her since there wasn't a lot of travel at that point.

Commander Lothian offered to take Rosalind on his horse and Henry felt a strange sadness at being separated from the girl. He felt maybe he was getting unnecessarily attached after being her guard for so long.

As Henry turned to mount his horse, Sir Trenton noticed the light material of his shirt soaked with blood where he must have fallen into the well.

"Henry, you're bleeding," Trenton said and slipped off of his own horse. "Rosalind said before that your ribs were hurt. Is it from falling?"

With all of the intense things he had been feeling, he had forgotten that he hurt his ribs and that he couldn't project his voice without an ache.

"It's fine," Henry uttered. "I'm sure I just fell on some rocks."
