The phone on the mini table chimed as messages popped in.
Everly, who was lying on the bed, let out a soft breath and sat up on the bed in a sitting position.

She turned it on and unlocked it to look at the messages.

"Arghhhh." She buried her face in the pillow and sighed deeply.
