"Y-you're awake." A huge smile formed on Everly's face, and bubbles of tears immediately steamed up in her eyes.
"It's not a dream, right? You're really awake, right?" She asked, and just to be sure that she wasn't dreaming, she pinched herself, causing a hiss of pain to exit her mouth.
"It's…not a dream," Valerio responded, his weary eyes gazing at her.
"Have you been crying?" He inquired, able to see her swollen, reddish eyes.
Everly shook her head at him and leaned in to tightly hug him. "I thought I lost you. I thought you were never coming back to me." She suddenly began to sob yet again, but Valerio, who couldn't seem to move his body, sighed, not able to pat her on the back.
"You have become such a crybaby." He said with a soft chuckle, and Everly drew back from the hug to look at him.
"It's all because of you. I was so scared. Why did you do that?!" She inquired, a frown forming on her face.
