Irene vigorously fluttered her eyes and took a deep breath.
"You... remember tomorrow is your birthday, right?" She asked, and almost instantly, a frown emerged on Vincent's face.
"I didn't remember." He replied. "I hope you are not going to ask me to come home." He said to her, suspecting that that's what she came there for.
Irene fiddled with her fingers and gently grabbed his hands.
"I know you won't agree, but please come home. Not for the others, but for me." She implored sincerely.
"Mother, I can't." Vincent shook his head at her. "You know very well that I don't like home. I don't feel okay coming back there." He disagreed.
"Vin, please—"
"Mother, please don't ask me to. You know I can never say no to you. I really don't want to go." He cut her off, knowing he wouldn't be able to stand hearing her beg him.
