"The cold look in her gentle eyes and the... way she responds to me, it bore hatred. She is no longer like the Everly that I used to know." Victor explained, with pain apparent in his blue eyes.
"Is that so?" Mrs. Yeager asked, and he nodded his head at her. "I see." She sighed and lowered her head in heavy guilt.
"Son," She called. "Do you…hate me?" She asked, not able to look him in the eyes.
Victor glanced at her and barely sighed. "No," He replied.
"Why? If it weren't for me, you would have been living happily with her now, so... why?" Mrs. Yeager inquired.
"Because it's no use. Hating you won't change anything. Besides, you're my mother. I can't hate you, no matter what." He responded and ran his fingers through his blonde hair.
