"For making you worry unnecessarily, even though I could have avoided it," Valerio said to her with remorse tinged in his tone.
She glanced at him and half smiled. "It's okay. But you will have to tell me what happened and why you look like that once we get home."
"Okay." A deep breath fled Valerio's nose, and he drove back to the house.
He drove into the compound once they arrived home and parked the car.
At the same time, they got out of the car and shut the door.
He locked it, and together they proceeded into the mansion.
They made their way upstairs and walked to their room.
Valerio pushed the door open, and Everly stepped in.
He followed after her and shut the door, locking it.
"So..what happened?" Without wasting even a bit of time, Everly asked as she took her jacket off.
