Valerio blinked his eyes and took a deep breath.
"Nix, please take care of her, I will be taking Daphne home. I will have Nihal pick you up," he said to Nix.
Nix nodded at him and turned to look at Sarah's dead body.
Valerio took Daphne with him and exited the building. He walked to the car and sat Daphne down on the front passenger seat.
He fastened her seatbelt and took his seat in the driver's seat. He started the car's engine and drove off onto the road.
During the ride, Daphne kept silent, not saying a word.
Valerio, quite worried about her, looked at her. He pinched between his brows and let out a deep breath.
"Are you okay?" he asked, even though he could tell that she wasn't.
Daphne slowly raised her head and looked at him. "Why did you leave my mother behind?" she asked.
Valerio stared at her and let out a soft breath.
