Rose needed to find a way—she needed to escape farther away from Logan as soon as possible.
She began to breathe heavily. She reached to grab the glass of water on the table, but the sudden creak of the door caused her to jolt in fear. This resulted in her knocking the glass of water over. It rolled off the table onto the floor and shattered into pieces.
Rose's shoulders rose and she fell in heavy breathing. She slowly looked at the intruder, who came to a stop at the sight of the shattered glass. This person was none other than Keisha, who seemed to have returned from a restaurant.
She had two bags of fast food in her hands.
"K-keisha," Rose stuttered. Her fingers trembled, and she quickly rushed over to clean up the mess.
Keisha, who was sure that something was off, quickly locked the door and dropped the bags on the mini table. She approached Rose, squatting down beside her.
"Rose, is something wrong?"
