"Will that work?" Layana was helpless. The way Everly spoke to her, she doubted that Everly would be willing to sit and have a conversation with her, lest forgive her.
Adrik raised his brow at her. "Why wouldn't it?"
Layana shrugged.
"I don't know. But I really doubt that it will. The way she spoke to me and the things she said to me, it was clear that she detested me."
Adrik softly exhaled. "That's just fine, Layana. I really expect nothing less from a girl who had grown up in an orphanage with no parents. Finding out later on that someone like you and Sheitan are her parents would break her obviously ."
"I mean, if she had been with you guys you do understand she would have probably had a better life where she lacked nothing and also had the protection of her parents."
