Chloe gives me a stern look to emphasize her point, hugs me one more time, and then takes off down the concourse to catch her connecting flight. As she blends into the crowd, I dig my phone out of my bag. I turned it off when I went to sleep on the plane and haven't turned it back on yet. I cover my eyes as the screen comes to life. I take a deep breath and peek through my fingers. Twelve texts from Mateo. Three texts from Elle. I open Elle's.
Where are you? Your plane landed thirty minutes ago??
Kit. I texted Mateo to find out where you guys are.
