Christopher turned his head to look at her, skeptical.
"The same thing has happened with Sam as well," she said.
"Sam?"
Abigail nodded. "The emerging piano artist… We tried to schedule an appointment with him. But he has gone to a concert. Mr. Miller was able to reach him on the phone. Nancy had caused him a lot of problems. First, she tried to gain sympathy from him, pretending to be helpless. Then she tried to get close to him. When he rejected her offer, she tried to ruin his image. Sam tactfully got away from her."
She reached out and interlaced her fingers with his. "She is doing the same with you." Her tone was persuasive as she tried to show him Nancy's real picture.
