"Did I… kill him?" Iris felt her throat turn dry when the question came out of her lips, while the lycan was still fast asleep in her lap.
She couldn't say what actually had happened because she was afraid they would judge her. After all, no matter how she put it, it was her who harmed Cane and brought the lycan to the surface. But Haco was different, he was not from this pack and he didn't share the same bond with Cane like the members of the pack did.
Iris was not sure how Jace and Ethan would react if they learned about this. She had enough people judging her unfairly already, she didn't want the Beta and the Gamma to join the mix.
