As soon as the Pennywhistle girl had been taken away amidst her cries and pleadings, all of the other girls stiffened and became as obedient and silent as they could ever be.
"Does anyone else have a problem with sharing a room with a maid?" Matron Valentina asked the rest of the girls with a malicious smile.
