Before Afina could reach the door, Prince Cargan beat her to it. He picked her hand off the doorknob and gestured for her to move out of sight.
Only then did Afina realize what she was about to do. She nodded obediently and went further into the room. Prince Cargan got the door and the maids came in to set the food trays on the table.
The maids must be feeling out of this world for serving Prince Cargan personally. Afina could tell by the big smiles plastered on their faces.
When they left, Prince Cargan closed the door with a gentle click and turned to Afina. "Come out and eat now. I don't want my room to sound like a laundry machine at work anymore." He said.
Did Prince Cargan just make a joke? Afina wanted to laugh but she had no idea how he would take it. Hence, Afina, fighting back the urge to burst into laughter, quickly covered her mouth, making a funny face to suppress her giggles.
