The foul smell from the garbage cart she was pushing was overwhelming but she was used to it. That was what the less privileged like her in the flame line faced all the time. She heard that in the sandline, all you needed to do was have the line's blood, and you get free groceries every month end.

It was a shame they were of the flame line, she had always been obsessed with the sand line that even Atticus never ceased to remind her to come back with a sand line blood in her next life.

With a deep sigh, "Life would have been much better if I had a sand line blood flowing in me." she mumbled to herself as she dragged the cart on the plastered floor, the cart's tires making a creaking sound along.

One after the other, she emptied its contents with care. It was not as if she fancied handling garbage with care but she was looking out for any worthy thing thrown away by the rich folks that she could sell or make use of.

The rich folks always do that, throwing valuables away after deeming them 'useless '.

Agreeably, they might seem useless to them but they were treasures to her. That was how struggling they were, she and Atticus all their lives.

The horns from the cars behind her reminded her she was not in her home nor was she in a gratifying place. She was standing beside the dumpsters emptying garbage used by the O'Connors, the family she works for as a help.

The O'Connors were one of the most powerful and influential people in the flameline with half of their family possessing a green qi.

Their mansion comprised most of their families and those who were absent were either on a quest or traveling.

The seven princes were brothers who were at peace with one another so any of the citizens of each line could go on a visit and even decide to live in any of the lines but the problem was the people.

The constant competition for who had the best qi, who was stronger, or who could cultivate their qi to the next level faster. Also, which line was the most powerful was never-ending which gave birth to the law that each divine person should live in their respective lines to avoid a low hullabaloo rupturing into a bigger one.

The seven princes were not the problem but the people, the people had always been the problem.

However, young master Andri the last young master in the O'Connor family has based in the tree line turning deaf ears to his parent's pleading to return home where it was safer.

Young master Andri also had a green qi, that birthed his arrogance and nonchalant nature. His strength was top notch too. Xylia knew all these because she had been working for the O'Connors for the very best of 11 years of her life.

She was done ransacking the first garbage nylon bag now, she found nothing useful. Disappointed, she sent the rest of the contents of the nylon bag into the trash bin with a thud.

She continued the process of first searching each nylon bag before dumping it into the trash can.

When she was on the last one and still hadn't found anything, "Did I get jinxed by a witch to have a bad day?!" she hollered to herself not wanting to give up but finally gave up when she saw it was unproductive to continue to waste her time here.

She might be expected inside soon. Moreover, she needed to get back home to Atticus. He has been bedridden for two days now. The doctor said he caught the flu and his qi was derailing. Another thing that saddened her whenever she ponders on it.

They were poor, weren't blessed with a child, and now her husband was sick with a derailing qi whose cause was unknown.

A light that was beaming in her eyes ignited the annoyance in her and she shouted angrily "Would you drive like a sane person next time?!" she spat.

She thought it was a drunk driver driving crazily in the night while his headlight was trying to blind her thirty-five-year-old eyes.

Her hands now shielded her eyes as she awaited the driver to drive away but the light never dimmed.

Frustratingly, Xylia grunted angrily now removing her palms from her eyes not giving a damn if the light was blinding or not.

She faced the direction where the light was coming from and almost cursed when she saw what was in front of her.

The moment she set her eyes upon it, the light dimmed and she saw it now.

Cooing and wrapped in pure white satin was a little divine person. The pinkness of its skin mixed with the white color of the satin matched like the salt melting in the water.

Its silent ambiance and tugging legs were the elements that drew her to it. Slowly and subconsciously, she walked closer to it with fears of what she would do with it if her assumption was true.

As she got closer to it, she saw that the baby was laying with its eyes closed just beside the trash bin. It was a beautiful young divine essence with blue hair!

"Oh, my...!" she exclaimed silently clasping her hands on her mouth.

As if it heard her exclamation, it opened its eyes almost immediately and cooed loudly also clasping its hands together.

Who on earth owned such a beautiful baby with blue hair and why did they drop it here? Beside a trash bin at that, she wondered.

.

The healthy pink skin made her conclude the baby's mother or father must be wealthy. Its blue hair was also distinctively long that it wrapped around its naked body.

Oh, poor baby, they forgot to dress it up. They only just wrapped a satin around it. Who would do such a thing? She kept on wondering.

The baby's sudden cries stung her ears and she quickly cleaned her dirty hands on the fabric of her gown. "You're too beautiful to be touched by these filthy hands, wait I will clean them up," she said to it as if it could understand her.

She was continuously wiping her hands on her dress.

Satisfied that it was a bit safer to carry it with her hands, she swooped the baby up and gazed into its tiny eyes. Its eyes were blue just like its hair and she got lost without hope of being found while gazing into them.

She had no baby and she found a dumped baby by the trash bin, let nobody judge her for taking it home!

She quickly forgot her task of emptying the junk at the O'Connors and ran towards the bus stop to get a taxi home.

She would deal with the O'Connors the next day and she would also deal with whatever consequences that came with taking a baby found by the trash bin home later when it comes.

For now, all she wanted to do was take this baby home to Atticus and make it theirs. And that was what she did, she was taking it home and she ran so fast to get to the bus stop making sure to hide the baby whenever she comes across a divine person on the way. Luckily, it was late so it was easier to take baby blue home.
