Lin Mufan woke up after about eighteen hours. No one was in the room as Lin Qiao and Cheng Ana had gone back home while Lin Ye and Chen Xi were resting in the on call room. Lin Qian had also gone back home.
The monitors beeped quite loudly while Lin Mufan tried to stretch his arms without any success. The noise was making his ears ring so badly that he wanted to get up and smash the monitors down.
Luckily, a nurse was passing by to check his vitals. She was a young woman of about twenty-six and her features were very fair and childlike. She sauntered happily towards the bed, "You are awake!"
Her voice carried genuine happiness. Lin Mufan wanted to speak but nothing came out of his mouth. He listened as the nurse continued to blabber, "Your vitals seem fine but I will have to call a doctor to give you a full check-up."
