Chen Xi walked back to the room after making his call. He masked his true emotions as he stared at the sleeping Lin Ye.
He stared at the way she looked like a child just sleeping there. Her hair was still damp from the shower and also her body was still sweating profusely from the drugs.
Some hair had stuck on her face and Chen Xi moved his hand to clear them away. Once his hands made contact with her skin, Lin Ye shuddered.
First, she was pretending to be asleep and second, the drug had not yet left her body completely. Chen Xi's hand on her forehead brought forth a surge of different emotions.
Chen Xi's hand was becoming too hard to bear so Lin Ye coughed, "Don't touch, it hurts."
Her voice was raspy and whatever came out was barely a whisper. Chen Xi's hand froze mid-air as he laughed, "Not yet asleep?"
Lin Ye found it hard to sleep in such a condition so she answered honestly, "Not yet better."
