"I… that was… I…" I couldn't find the words.
With a breathless chuckle, David gathered me in, rolled me to my side and curled me into his chest. His shaking, trembling body wrapped around me as he kissed my hair and panted in my ears.
For a moment it was all I could do to just lay there, pressed against him.
But slowly, slowly I relaxed, and my breathing softened. Slowly I sank into the languid joy of satisfaction.
And slowly became aware that David was not nearly as relaxed as me. That, in fact, his body remained rigid and demanding. And yet, all he did was hold me, and kiss my hair, and tell me how beautiful I was.
I gave myself a moment to get my bearings, to hold him, to somehow express the deep, shocking intimacy that seemed to have grown between us… then I lifted my head to meet his eyes.
