"Agatha," I sighed wearily, holding the basket of food she'd handed me and shaking my head. Behind me on the couch Zara laughed like a hyena. "Why?" I muttered, lips pressed thin and let her see the anger in my eyes.
I didn't believe for a moment she'd really come to give me food. There were plenty of far more discreet servants for that kind of task.
Agatha leaned towards the door, peering inside and around the corner until she caught sight of Zara, curled up on the couch in my robe and still laughing.
"Ah, that's good. You haven't broken her."
"Aggie!"
Zara spluttered again, gripping her stomach.
"You know, Stark is right," Agatha muttered. "You really are rather… puckered, David."
"Stark…? Stark called me puckered?!" I ground my teeth. "I assure you, when I am left alone and not… provoked—"
