"Zara…" I started, but her face got harder and she backed another step away from me. My heart hammered against my ribs and I knew… I knew I had to be so careful. She was clearly at her limit. I didn't know what those fuckers had done, but I was going to have words with them as soon as I got her calmed down and tear the head off whoever had scared her this bad. Because even though it was clear she was mad, it was also abundantly clear to me that she was so firey because she was scared shitless.
"Zara… I know you're mad. But just think this through for a second, okay? Seriously… I'm not making it up. You need me—"
