A quivering silence hung in the air of the Courtyard at the Palace, tension crackling through everyone witnessing the historic marriage of their King to the woman they believed to be a Sorceress.
Then…
"Sire… you may kiss your bride. Or should I say, your Queen?"
As David beamed, then descended on me with a predatory smile, the crowd raised a massive cheer, so loud that I couldn't even hear my own pulse in my ears as my husband teased his tongue under my lip and squeezed me to him.
My husband.
He had been my husband for some time now, but there was something special about making certain everyone else knew it.
I threw my arms around his neck and pulled him harder into the kiss, and the crowd roared even louder.
