After having their evening meal together in the guest room, Samantha returned to Ivan's chamber in the hopes of finding him there, and as expected, he was sitting up on his bed, fully awake. He had worn his glasses as usual, perching them elegantly at the bridge of his nose, and his blue eyes, which scanned the paperwork on his bed, instantly flicked in her direction when he sensed her appealing presence in his chamber. Samantha could feel her heart skip a beat, an extrinsic reaction that had become a natural occurrence to her whenever she saw him.
"Why are you standing there?" His eyes raked over her frame, almost questioningly, and Samantha had to force her feet to move forward. Ivan simply continued on what he had been doing as he gathered the paperworks and kept them on his side table. His gaze returned to his little lamb who came to stand at the side of his bed, and before she could say anything else to him, he held out his hand for her to take.
