"A baby sister?!" The couple exclaimed at the same time, but unlike Cassian who was still frozen, Madeline pondered on it and assumed it wasn't a bad idea. She should get on with it now that she still has the strength to go through that experience again, and unlike her, she wouldn't want her child to grow without a sibling, or even a sister to call his own.
"Why do you want a sister and not a brother?" Madeline asked her son softly, her eyes gleaming with a playful intent, and that was until she heard her son say,
"So when she irritates me, I can pull her hair." He answered, and the way he said it made it sound like a harmless intention he was eager to try. Madeline could hear her husband laugh softly behind her, as if their son's words made him recollect how he treats his sister, and when she looked at him with a glare, he sealed his lips, schooling his expression in front of his son.
