Chapter 6 - Decision

The chat channel was buzzing with discussion. Clearly, Waldo's unlimited supply of condoms had contributed to the lively conversation.

Waldo remained silent, understanding that in this apocalyptic world, some people would resort to using their bodies as a means of survival and trading for supplies.

It was an inevitable occurrence. However, it still made Waldo uncomfortable. He suddenly thought of Alanna. If Alanna couldn't survive, would she also have to resort to selling her body for supplies?

Waldo abruptly stopped his random thoughts and chuckled to himself, "Damn it, why bother thinking so much about others when even my own survival is uncertain?". With that, he refocused his attention on the zombies roaming the streets.

Congratulations, player! Level up and keep up the good work!

Level: 3 (0/300)

Strength: 15

Agility: 7

Stamina: Hungry

Finally, he leveled up! Waldo shook his slightly sore arms. After over ten hours of fighting, he had finally reached level 3, with a 3-point increase in strength and a 2-point increase in agility.

He had achieved a small goal. Now, feeling famished, it was time to eat.

Waldo took out a pack of instant noodles and a bottle of mineral water, replenishing his stamina while browsing the trading platform.

Surprisingly, he found something useful: a pistol suppressor. This was a great item!

With it, he could shoot without making too much noise, greatly increasing his safety. Looking at the seller's request, it was just ten bottles of water. He bought it without haggling.

Waldo, being financially comfortable, had no intention of wasting time on negotiations. Soon enough, a pistol suppressor appeared in his hands.

When attached to the barrel, it added a hint of fierceness.

Hmm? Just then, Waldo suddenly became alert. Within his field of vision, a shifty-looking guy with blond hair sneaked into the supermarket. Since the zombies on the street had been cleared out, the guy didn't encounter much danger.

Trouble!

Waldo's gaze sharpened as he quietly descended from the rooftop, holding his gun. As soon as he reached the stairs, he heard Alanna's cry for help from the second-floor office.

"Help! Someone, please help me!"

Alanna's voice sounded hoarse.

Hey, hey! I didn't expect to find such a beautiful woman while scavenging for supplies. I've been pent up for days, and now I can relieve some stress with you!

A strange male voice came from the office.

Immediately, there were sounds of unzipping pants and tearing clothes.

Waldo quickly rushed down to the second floor with his gun.

"Damn it, what's going on here? Stay still!"

Just as the blond guy was about to rape Alanna, a gunshot rang out from behind.

Then, Waldo felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder.

Ah! It hurts so much!

The blond guy held his left arm and cried out in pain. Waldo, with an icy expression, held his gun at the office door, the barrel emitting a faint heat.

"You dare touch my people?!"

Waldo's voice was low as he fired another shot, hitting the blond guy's left thigh. The pain made the guy cry tears, unsure which wound to cover, so he pleaded while lying on the ground.

"Big brother, I was wrong! I was wrong! I didn't even touch her yet. Spare me, please! I'll do anything for you! I'll be your servant!"

Waldo remained expressionless.

"Calling me 'father' won't help you."

The blond guy's face filled with fear, trembling all over.

"Yes, yes, you're my grandfather! You're my ancestor! An ancestor punishing his descendant is only right! Please, great ancestor, spare me! Show mercy!"

Listening to the desperate pleas of the blond guy, Waldo felt irritated. He thought about how the guy almost laid hands on Alanna, and for some reason, he couldn't control his emotions.

"You talk too much."

Waldo raised his gun and turned the blond guy into a hornet's nest. As he looked at the motionless figure on the ground, filled with fear and disbelief, it took a while for Waldo to regain his senses.

Then, he walked over to the panicked Alanna and rolled his eyes.

"You're not dead, huh?"

Alanna burst into tears.

In all her years, she had never encountered such a situation. The thought of almost being violated left her feeling indescribably wronged.

Waldo remained silent.

When Alanna cried herself hoarse, Waldo untied her and placed a set of clean clothes beside her, then walked out of the office.

"Your previous clothes were torn. Put on the new ones."

Waldo walked downstairs to the abandoned supermarket and collected everything from the blond guy's backpack. There wasn't anything valuable, far inferior to his own supplies. Alanna, now in her new clothes, walked out of the abandoned supermarket and stood by Waldo's side.

Waldo took out ten bottles of water and some food.

Alanna frowned.

"What's the meaning of this?"

Waldo shrugged and said, "I'm letting you go. But whether you live or die afterward is up to your luck."

Before Alanna could speak, Waldo left the abandoned supermarket without looking back.

Encountering two people in three days meant that the place was no longer safe, and more players might arrive in the future.

He had no choice but to leave. As for Alanna, Waldo couldn't care too much. Leaving behind some supplies would at least allow her to survive a few more days, which could be considered doing his best.

Waldo walked far away without turning back. The next moment, he heard footsteps behind him. With multiple upgrades, Waldo's physical abilities had made a qualitative leap. He could now perceive subtle sounds that he couldn't hear before.
