"You won't ask what the expensive joke I heard was?" he asked as he stepped onto the kitchen threshold. Seeing the candle lit table filled with food, his brows furrowed in confusion but he didn't bother asking any questions.
Shikera approached him and linked her arms with his, pulling him over to the table as she talked, "That's because you said it was nothing. What is it by the way?"
"That you are pregnant," he dropped the bombshell, feeling her arms which were wrapped around his, stiffen. He continued, "To say the truth, I almost believed it but I was quick to get a hold on myself—"
"Ethan..." Shikera interrupted him, her voice extremely low as different thoughts ran through her mind. Was she hearing things? It might be because she had imagined telling Ethan about her pregnancy countless times that was making her hear things?
