⁜ Mary Darkwood POV
Mary felt exhausted; the destruction of the city she called home like an enemy nation had laid it to waste with bombs. All the shops and places she would visit had already vanished, causing her to feel nostalgic.
'Even Seth's old apartments were half destroyed...'
Mary was worried for her son since they lacked sufficient communication. She was unaware of his antics and changes, and he remained the silly boy in her mind.
The bus stopped with Gladys turning off the loud engine, its roar coming to a halt as they observed the huge black walls painted beautifully with the Blackwood family emblem.
Mary noticed many people on the walls looked at them nervously.
'I wonder why they look so nervous...'
She didn't mind if they held rifles or dressed in combat gear. Mary just left her bus and walked towards the door and stepped out.
