Chapter 64 - Faculty Meeting

Shye was puzzled, he didn't know what Ren was up to but he trusted him so he didn't ask any questions and simply followed him inside a meeting room.

"Sit here and wait for a bit. I'll just retrieve some things from the storage room."

"Okay"

Shye nodded and explored the system since there was nothing for him to do while waiting.

After waiting for a few minutes, Ren Beckmann returned while carrying a medium-sized box.

He then started taking out the items inside the box while Shye happily waited for him to take everything out.

Shye knew that these items were his "signing bonus" for joining the Order of the Black Sword.

As for Ren, he almost laughed upon seeing Shye's excited expression because ever since he got to know him, Shye has never been a person who pretentiously rejects whenever someone gives him free benefits.

He openly shows how happy he was and to Ren, his personality was like a breath of fresh air.

Most of the people pretentiously reject the benefits but in the end, they would still choose to "reluctantly" accept.

Ren Beckmann has never been fond of such pretentious persons ever since he was a freshman so he was pleasantly surprised upon learning that Shye wasn't such a person.

"That's everything, please check if I missed something."

Ren said after transferring everything inside the box onto the meeting room's table.

Meanwhile, Shye was even humming a tune while checking the quantity of each promised item.

"Yep, it's all here! Thanks, Senior Ren! I plan to focus on training inside the intermediate adventurer zone so these training items will be a big help to me."

Shye said as he gave a sincere bow to Ren who was utterly shocked after hearing what Shye said.

"W-Wait, did you say that you'll train inside the intermediate adventurer zone?"

"Hmm? Yeah, I just got my intermediate adventurer badge today after completing the quest given by the staff member in charge of the badge applications. Why? Is there a problem?"

Shye asked with a confused expression.

"N-Nothing, be careful when going inside the intermediate adventurer zone. If possible, try to look for a buddy to help watch your back."

"Got it! Thanks, Senior Ren! I'll be leaving now!"

Shye happily stored all the items on the table in his sack bag before leaving the headquarters of the Order of the Black Sword.

Two days have passed since the celebration at the society headquarters.

For some reason, the instructors of their class announced that they would have an asynchronous class today because the instructors had an important meeting to attend to.

Due to this, Shye headed towards the intermediate adventurer zone again to complete some daily and regular quests given by the system.

However, he didn't venture too far and just hunted creatures near the entrance so he could return before nighttime.

Meanwhile, all the combat instructors in all four courses and all four deans gathered inside a meeting room.

Dean Snowcrest was chosen to lead the discussions because most of the meeting agendas were about warrior course students.

"I believe everyone is here so let's start the meeting. Our first meeting agenda of the day is to talk about the complaints filed by the parents of three warrior course students who perished during the first class practicum."

"Although it was unfortunate that the three talented students, Theoden Bathory, Leonardo Regulus, and Eusford Banehollow, died too early, such is the fate of an adventurer."

After Dean Snowcrest opened up the discussion about the three warrior course students who died, Instructor Brodley spoke up.

"Your Excellency! I believe that the three students were murdered by someone! There was simply no way for them to lose against such creatures inside the beginner adventurer zone!"

"I agree, your excellency. I believe those three were strong enough to defend themselves against those kinds of creatures."

"I agree!"

Two instructors immediately voiced their support, the dead students were under their tutelage so they had to at least get justice for them.

Dean Snowcrest's eyes narrowed after hearing about Brodley's opinion. Indeed, there was a low chance for the three of them to be defeated by a bunch of apex creatures inside the beginner adventurer zone.

"Oh? This is a pretty big claim, Instructor Brodley. Who would dare to murder three talented students inside the beginner adventurer zone? Not to mention, the beginner adventurer zone was only accessible to the students that day so there were no outsiders at all…"

Dean Snowcrest asked Brodley

"Who else but Shye Crowley? Even Lionheart lost to him so who else but him?!"

Instructor Brodley said with a loud voice, he believed that Shye murdered the three students.

"Hmmph! How stupid! You don't even have any proof yet you blame my student? Airheaded instructors like you shouldn't be teaching students. Not to mention, Crowley fought the ember tiger and ended up in a bad state so how could he have the strength to murder three students?"

Instructor Fienna immediately defended her favorite student with logical reasoning.

After hearing what Instructor Fienna said, most of the instructors agreed. Indeed, it was impossible for Shye to murder three top students after fighting the ember tiger.

Except…they didn't know that Shye was actually strong enough to do so and it was indeed him who killed the three students.

"Brodley, I get your point, however, Fienna's point is a bit more logical, there was no way for Crowley to defeat three top students together after fighting an intense battle against an ember tiger."

Dean Snowcrest said.

He didn't side with Instructor Fienna simply because he favors Shye but because it was indeed hard to believe that Shye could kill three top students who were working together after an intense battle against an E ranked creature.

"B-But, only Crowley could…"

"Enough! It's decided, we shall explain to the parents of the three students that it was the apex predators inside the beginner adventurer zone who killed their children."
