Chapter 4 - Journey!

Outside the stable,

After Jen and Vani had left, Freya twisted Adrian's ear: "aaaaaAAA, Mother, what are you doing?"

Freya smiled warmly, speaking: "Punishing my child for being naughty"

"Sorry Mother, I won't do it again!" Adrian Promised as Frey left his ear from her grip.

Freya shook her head in helplessness, muttering in a low voice: "Now I will have to find another girl for you!"

Adrian held her hand, speaking with a calm voice: "No mother, You just take care of yourself, I will take care of other things!"

Freya squeezed Adrian's cheeks as she nodded: "Alright Dear, Let's go and eat something"

Adrian nodded before following Freya to their small house.

The house was a 2-storey building with a medieval style design. Inside, the walls were mainly purple with some occasionally being painted pink.

Adrian ate the food before leaving for his room.

In his room, He was pondering: "Is this the world after death or have I somehow returned to the past?"

Now, to this question, he had only one way to know. He had heard that after death, you can't bleed, therefore, picking up the knife he had sneaked out of the kitchen, he cut a small cut on his finger.

He stared hard at the small wound as small droplets of blood began to come out of the cut.

"It is... the past. Somehow, I have returned to the past" He murmured, trying to accept the reality.

--------Three days later--------

Adrian's room was filled with an aura of intense concentration as he meticulously created mana holes across his body.

In this world, there were two types of mana users - Aura knights and Mages.

Mana was present in the atmosphere, however, how you used it made a difference.

An Aura Knight would create a Mana Hole also known as the Mana core of the knight which was located at the solar plexus.

A Mage, on the other hand, would create mana circles around his heart instead of a mana hole.

Now, both of them had mana in their body, however, the aura knights used this mana to gain explosive strength while mages used it to perform magic.

An Aura knight could basically turn his mana into aura with the help of his mana hole, while, A mage could access the psions present in the mana to perform magic with the help of magic circles.

Unlike a typical knight who had a single mana hole located at their solar plexus, which grew in size and density as they advanced in their training, Adrian was practicing a unique technique he had acquired in the cave alongside the Trident of Destruction - Demios.

In this technique, he had to create small mana holes in every joint of his body in addition to the main mana hole, located at his solar plexus.

This required a high level of focus and precision. The key to mastering this technique was achieving a delicate balance among all the mana holes in his body, ensuring that they worked harmoniously together.; otherwise, many would have already discovered this technique through trial and error.

What set this technique apart was that it provides the perfect radius and concentration of the mana hole one has to create at a specific joint in his body.

This technique offered a significant advantage to the user.

When a regular knight drew mana from their single mana hole, some of the mana was lost as it traveled through their body, resulting in a weaker aura.

However, with this technique, the additional mana holes in the joints compensated for the loss and even enhanced the strength of the aura, making it more potent.

Adrian had made meticulous plans for the future. He left his job at the horse stable after informing his family, fully expecting their response ––

"Dear Adrian,

Leaving your work at the horse stable is not an issue. However, once you've done that, you will no longer receive any financial support from our family. If you still wish to leave, the choice is yours.

 Harvard Blake"

Reading the Letter, Adrian gritted his teeth as he snorted: "Hmph, you bastard of a father. When have I ever received any financial support from you? It was a fxcking job!! I took care of your horses, and you paid me for my work."

With a determined resolve, he continued, "It's a good thing I had a habit of saving money whenever I got the chance. We can survive for six months on the savings, and that should be enough for me. First, let's finish creating mana holes throughout my body."

Adrian dedicated himself to practicing the mana hole creation technique, diligently forming mana holes in every joint of his body.

He knew that mastering this technique would be crucial for his future endeavors.

-------Two Months Later-------

"Bye Mom, I am leaving now!" said Adrian waving his hand to his mother

After Adrian had finished creating mana holes, he decided to leave for Antinia City.

This city, under the jurisdiction of Count Nadino, was a major trade hub in the kingdom of Vradel. However, Adrian's motives for going there were not related to trade; he had a different goal in sight.

"If I remember correctly, in about a month, there will be an outbreak of berserking monsters in the forest near Antinia.

Count Nadino will lead his knights to clear the forest of these creatures. While they are occupied with the battle, I can seize the opportunity to acquire 'that thing' hidden within the forest," Adrian mused.

"For that to happen," he thought, "I'll need to join the Nadino Knights and gain their trust so they'll take me on that mission.

Considering how rare knights with my level of aura skills are, it shouldn't be too difficult to join their ranks."

With a clear goal in mind, Adrian set off for Antinia City, determined to make the most of his second chance at life.

"Sigh, with this speed, it will take about a day to reach the city of Antinia," Adrian sighed. "Let's see how much faster I've gotten after creating all the mana holes in my body."

With that, Adrian pushed himself to the limit. He moved faster and faster, leaving behind a blur of motion.

In no time, he had reached a speed that surpassed the capabilities of most individuals, especially those below the level of a 2-star knight.

Adrian maintained this incredible speed as he made his way to Antinia City, determined to reach his destination as quickly as possible.
