"Sooner rather than later," Tilly replied, eyeing the busy mages scattering about. "I aim to set foot there by noon today at the latest."
Elias nodded, his gaze drifting toward the small island in the sea.
Thanks to the rising morning temperatures, the mist over the sea had cleared enough to reveal the island's full outline.
Both stood there, looking at the island. Elias broke the silence.
"The Chairman has turned into a monster, completely irrational."
"Do you still believe, after all this, that studying the corpses of gods can lead us to the truth?"
The Chairman's current state, coupled with Professor Usuma's disappearance, seemed to confirm the dire end of such 'divine studies.' Why did Tilly believe she'd fare any differently?
