Chapter 6 - Beginner's Academy

"Do you think he is a hacker?" the leader asked the mage seriously.

"Yes, leader. I think we should report him", the mage said.

The entire party of five reported the incident that occurred in front of them, calling the player a hacker. They hoped for some reward for catching the hacker, then continued hunting slimes in the party.

The reporting system in Orion worked differently from that of other games. From the top, it was to prevent players from cheating, when in reality, the angels maintained the game and checked reports to see if someone unauthorised had been playing the game.

"We have received reports of a player using mana without a weapon." an Angel read the report to a beautiful young lady with four wings on her back, sitting on a chair wearing a nightsuit.

"Humans aren't that intelligent to get this information naturally. Check the player; maybe some NPC gave him a hint.", said Seraphiel before returning to sipping her tea, watching K-drama.

Unbeknownst of all this, David nonchalantly roamed around the Beginner's Town. He clicked on the title he had just received on using Mana without the weapon, closely analysing it.

==========

Title: The One Who Understands Mana

Rank: Epic

Description: Understand the basics of true mana

Effect:

1) +10% Mana Regeneration Rate

2) The player starts with Neutral favourability against Mage NPC's

==========

"Woah!" David was surprised by the effects of this title." At first glance, a neutral favourability doesn't sound like much. Still, having experienced conversing with them first-hand, it will make it easier to deal with those egoistic bastards", he thought.

"I should send Tom a friend request", David thought as he opened the system and sent a friend request to a player named "LadySlayer420".

"I need to tell him to change his name", David muttered while pressing his head. He had to face embarrassment when their guild leader was called this.

Tom quickly accepted his friend request, and David received a DM from him.

LadySlayer420: Who is this? I only talk to women.

David: I am the mother of your unborn son

LadySlayer420: I'm going to get some milk for my son.

David: Drop the act, mf

LadySlayer420: You started it!

David: ....

David: Anyway, where should we meet? I am level one and am heading to the Beginners Academy.

LadySlayer420: hah, I am already level three. I found an excellent team to hunt with. We should meet in the Wolf hunting ground once we reach level five.

David: What? Already level three? What class did you pick?

LadySlayer420: It's a secret. I will tell you in person.

David: Okay. See you at the hunting ground.

LadySlayer420: Okay.

"Phew, talking to him is always a tough task", David smiled. He knew that Tom had an extremely high speed of levelling up and would have to grind a lot to catch up to him.

"I do know the class he took last time. But anything could have been changed", David thought, as Tom was supposed to play the game a week later when he failed to bring David to play with him and logged in alone.

"Welcome to the Beginner's Academy", a guard spoke to David, welcoming him inside the structure.

"Level 70, phew", David muttered as he walked inside, noticing that few players were there.

"Most players are either still completing the Chain Quest for Beginners or have already gotten a class and left. Hidden classes are not that prevalent, with only a few players getting it."

"Most of the hidden classes were kind of useless, as they changed the evolution requirements drastically, without giving much benefit."

At that moment, a burly, muscular man appeared before David. He was the instructor of the academy and the most vital NPC in the entire Beginner's Town. His name was Sir Brody.

"I am Sir Brody, and I am tasked to give you guys the information about the progression system in the world of Orion.". The instructor's coarse and deep voice rang, addressing many players simultaneously.

David already knew what he would say, but it was a sort of "unskippable cutscene", which he had to watch for the game to progress.

"To progress in the world of Orion, you players must level up. It can be done by completing quests, defeating monsters, or even performing well in your profession. Consider it similar to self-improvement in your real world", the instructor said.

"When you level up, you obtain stats and skill points, which you can use to improve your player characteristics."

"There are five basic Tiers that you can reach in the world of Orion. They are," Brody paused before flicking his fingers, and text appeared in front of the players. Then, he continued to speak.

"Mortals, which you currently are. This tier is for players from levels 0 to 20. While in this tier, you are weaker than most of the population of Orion."

"The next stage is Adept, for players from level 21 to 50. These guys are on the same level as kingdom guards and can fight against them."

"Then comes Demigod, " the instructor said, puffing up his chest, "These are for players from level 51 to 100. You guys can try to beat me if you also have the skills."

Most of you will stop at Demigod, as the following two tiers are incredibly tough to reach. I will explain the reason to you.

"The final two stages are Celestials and Gods. I don't have much information about them, as the information about them is kept as strategic secrets by different kingdoms. But it is believed that the Celestial Tier begins at level 101", the instructor finished.

"He is not wrong", David thought. Even twenty years later, no human was close to reaching the God tier, with most players stagnating around level 150.

"It was not worth the risk of dying for a few level-ups", he thought.

David knew that just as players could evolve, so did monsters, as they grew stronger and gained intelligence at every tier. But this knowledge was provided to the newbies and was available to players once they reached the kingdom.

"Now I will tell you why most people don't go through the next tier, even after reaching the level cap."

"In the world of Orion, There exists a concept known as 'Evolution' "
