Grrr—!
Restarting the engine on the icebreaker, I commenced my customary routine, a task I'd executed effortlessly for the past three days. Thus far, the job had proceeded without a hitch.
This marks the third site where I've begun the process of ice clearance in just as many days, encompassing the initial location, the lake. The second ice is where I was tasked to collect the ice but I was back again on clearing ones.
It was a very smooth operation.
Why would I be lounging like this on the job when my primary task entails active exploration and information gathering?
Well, that was supposed to be the initial plan. The original intention was to utilize my job as a means to freely roam around, returning to the designated site only to fulfill the shift requirement after the first day. In fact, I hadn't anticipated receiving any compensation whatsoever.
