Adrian raised his arm to do the one thing he had been itching to do for the last few years and beat the shit out of Joseph. However, a familiar voice rang out just before he was about to hit him.
"Adrian, is that you..."
Adrian turned to see Ava, his mother, standing in the doorway. Her eyes darted between her two sons and then her bruised husband. It didn't take a genius to know what might have gone down there.
Ava knew Joseph and Jacob might have done something to anger Adrian, and now they were in that state.
Still, as their mother, she couldn't see Adrian harming his little brother, no matter what he might have done to him. However, Adrian didn't think the same and saw her as a mere enemy. Nothing more.
Adrian's gaze softened for a moment as he saw his mother, torn between his desire for vengeance and his love for her. But then, his expression hardened once more when he realised she wasn't any better than them.
