Revelation Peak, which towered amidst the cliffs surrounding the City of Windblown Sand, was a high point among the heights.
Its elevation, however, wasn't its most notable feature; behind the peak lay an abyss so deep that bodies falling into it would never be found, making it a paradise for those seeking to end their lives.
The name "Revelation Peak" came from a priest's hope that those contemplating suicide might reflect on their lives and receive some final enlightenment before making their fatal choice.
Next to the cliff of Revelation Peak stood a large platform with a massive brick barn, used for storing hay. Now that it was spring, the hay had been cleared out, leaving the barn, which covered an area of three hundred square meters, empty.
Inside the barn, the place was ablaze with light. Nearly a hundred lamps cast the interior into daylight brightness. It was warm and dry, an extreme contrast to the stormy world outside.
