This wasn't at all how Minho expected the ambush to go down. He never anticipated a wild crossfire, especially since the officer had promised him safety. It was naïve of him to think the ambush be easy because neither Jae Hyun nor his men knew what was coming.
Sucking a ragged gasp, he clutched his chest tightly. All around, the parking lot had turned into anarchic chaos. Gunshots rent the air, deafening and disorienting, with plaster dust choking and stinging Minho's eyes until they begin to stream with tears.
Minho hauled himself to the edge of the car, risking a perk as a bullet punched on it, so close that his nostrils filled with burned gunpowder stench―causing him to jerk back and flatten himself as he squeezed his eyes shut.
