Chapter 2: The Predator Simulation System [2] - Some skills for the weakling

Ding!

[The Predator Simulation System is activated!]

[The Predator Simulation System can stimulate the host's life in other non-human bodies in different places, zones and even in different worlds.]

[Depending on the type of predator and the rank of the simulation, the host will be able to choose a set of rewards. The rank varies from S to E. If the host participates in an S rank predation, then at least three rewards will be guaranteed. Upon an A-rank predation, at least two rewards will be guaranteed. And upon any simulation below A rank, at least one reward will be guaranteed.]

[If the host can complete the simulation and the task provided in the certain predation, by either predating on a prey or completing a scenario, the host will be able to integrate into the predator and turn it into a slave or play it like a character. Additionally, he may simulate and play as the completed predator whenever he desires.]

[The initial simulation when the host has yet to complete any mission or quest, will end only if the host dies in the simulation. There will be no effect on the host's main body. But the host will no longer be able to simulate as the desired predator.]

[The system has detected that the host is weak, pathetic and broken at the moment. Even an ant will be better than the host right now. So the system will be generous and fix the host.]

A faint, very faint green glow engulfed Bozo. Due to the light, Bozo regained his sight. It was as if his pierced eyeballs were healed.

Moreover, his arms, legs and any other injuries were healed. It was as if a miracle.

[Full recovery has been performed on the host.]

[Detecting the host's condition…]

Bozo, stuffed among many other goblins, noticed this sudden recovery. His lower jaw started shaking.

'I thought I was hearing weird noises, but this is no illusion. This is real.', he clenched his fist and verified this process.

But then all of a sudden, he heard one of the human's voices. He was unable to understand the human voice but knew that it was approaching. So using the opportunity, he dived inside the pool of bodies, hiding himself perfectly.

The women, who had previously dragged Bozo, appeared and stared at the pile of bodies.

"What happened Zenda? Don't want the dinner?", a male's voice reverberated.

"Coming Marco, just a second.", although she replied, she couldn't help but feel uneasy.

'I swear that I saw something glowing… Was that my imagination?', she took a few more steps, approaching the goblins.

Bozo couldn't help but feel his heartbeat rise. That was because, from the small opening, Bozo was staring right at her, looking at how she was approaching him.

"Zenda! Come this instant!"

"Ugh, alright.", she sheathed her sword back and went back to Marco.

Well, doing this was her biggest mistake as Bozo would become one such monster that she never could even imagine!

[The system has detected Ogre405 in the World: Fantasia9664. Does the host want to start the simulation?]

[Yes/No]

Bozo was not even attempting to understand previously. It was some random voice beating in his head. But after his recovery, he could feel that everything that was spoken was stored in his head.

'Yes.', he said in his mind, checking and experimenting if the system could work with just his mind… quite smart for a goblin, eh?

[The host has accepted.]

[You will be playing the role of an Ogre. The system asks the host to choose five skills from the following list:]

[S-Rank Skills:

1. Brutal Might (S): You can unleash an overwhelming display of physical strength, causing massive damage to enemies; temporarily doubling your strength.

2. Intimidating Presence (S): You can strike fear into opponents, reducing their combat effectiveness and increasing your dominance on the battlefield; it temporarily decreases the target's defence, speed and morale.

3. Stone Skin (S): You can temporarily increase your defence by turning your skin into a tough, rock-like surface.

4. Earthquake Stomp (S): You can shake the ground with a powerful stomp, causing area-of-effect damage and disrupting enemy formations; it temporarily reduces the agility and accuracy of targets.

5. Rage of the Berserker (S): You can enter a berserk state, significantly boosting your speed, strength, and aggression for a limited time.

A-Rank Skills:

1. Club Mastery (A): Your proficiency with clubs will be enhanced allowing for more precise and devastating attacks.

2. Toughened Endurance (A): You can increase your overall defence, stamina and resistance to status ailments.

3. Bellowing Roar (A): You can unleash a deafening roar that can stun or disorient nearby enemies, providing a tactical advantage; it temporarily decreases the target's morale.

4. Adaptive Regeneration (A): Gradually heals wounds over time. You can engage and endure prolonged battles.

5. Feral Instinct (A): Heightens your senses, improving reaction time and awareness of the surrounding environment.

B-Rank Skills:

1. Clobbering Strike (B): You can execute a powerful but slower attack that has a chance to knock down or incapacitate opponents.

2. Rock Toss (B): You can hurl large rocks at enemies from a distance, dealing moderate damage with a chance to stagger.

3. Iron Grip (B): Enhances your ability to grapple and restrain opponents, limiting their mobility.

4. Thick Hide (B): Improves natural armour, reducing damage taken from physical attacks.

5. Wild Roar (B): You can release a primal roar that boosts your and nearby allies' morale, providing a minor buff.

C-Rank Skills:

1. Giant's Stride (C): Enables you to cover large distances quickly, closing in on enemies or escaping from danger.

2. Enduring Resolve (C): Grants resistance against mental and psychological effects, maintaining focus during chaotic situations.

3. Stone Throw (C): You can throw smaller rocks with precision, creating distractions or targeting specific weak points.

4. Crude Weapon Crafting (C): You can craft basic weapons from materials found in the environment.

5. Dense Aura (C): You can project an intimidating aura that can discourage weaker foes from engaging in combat.

D-Rank Skills:

1. Basic Club Proficiency (D): Grants fundamental knowledge and proficiency in wielding clubs.

2. Basic Unarmed Combat (D): Increase basic hand-to-hand combat skills, useful when weapons are unavailable; increases your speed, and strength.

3. Rudimentary Tracking (D): You can follow basic tracks, helping in navigation and hunting.

4. Stone Affinity (D): Enhances your connection to Earth, granting a minor bonus when fighting in natural environments.

5. Survival Instinct (D): Heightens awareness of potential threats, aiding in avoiding ambushes and traps.

E-Rank Skills:

1. Clumsy Swings (E): Increases the likelihood of missing attacks, negatively impacting accuracy.

2. Limited Tactical Awareness (E): Provides a basic understanding of combat tactics but lacks finesse in execution.

3. Elementary Rock Manipulation (E): Allows for the clumsy manipulation of small rocks or soil.

4. Slow Reflexes (E): Moderately decreases your reaction time, affecting agility, but in turn, saves power to deliver a strong attack.

5. Crude Communication (E): Basic communication skills with limited expressiveness.]

[Note: You can bring three of the skills that you choose upon getting an S rank, two if you get an A and one in case you get any of the other rank evaluations on Predation Simulation.]

Bozo took a good look at the skills. Some were repeated while many others stood out. He could choose a total of five skills but had to do so carefully.

'I should choose all S rank skills… they are S rank for a reason. But these other skills are also not weaker.', Bozo took a few minutes, exploring his options.

After about two minutes of complete dedication to the task of choosing, he finally had his answer.

'Adaptive Regeneration will be my first choice.'

Ding!

[You have chosen Adaptive Regeneration (A). It will be stored in the first slot. Four more slots are available, please choose four more skills to accompany you in the simulation.]

'Toughened Endurance is second. Rage of Berserker is third.'

[You have chosen Toughened Endurance (A) and Rage of Berserker (S). The chosen skills will be stored in the second and third slots respectively. Two more slots are available, please choose two more skills to accompany you in the simulation.]

'I chose Regeneration so that I can heal in case I get any wounds. There is no way I would pass on that. I don't want to die while bleeding. As for toughened endurance, I chose it mainly because my stats will remain unaffected. Imagine being strong but your strength cut down in half… that would be deadly. Pretty sure many die that way.'

'After that, something offensive was necessary and this berserker one sounds good. But the last two is the problem. Attack… done. Defence, done. Healing factor and resistance, are done. Now… the most important, a means to escape! I choose, Giant's Stride.'

[You have chosen Giant's Stride (C). It will be stored in the fourth slot. One more slot remains, please choose one more skill to accompany you in the simulation.]

'The last… reflexes. Hmm, reflex is important… It is way too important to dodge close attacks and some near-death situations. But I don't think I need to choose something like that. We are monsters… even if not exclusively a skill, we have those instincts naturally. So, I will pass on that, and instead, I will choose this, which seems extremely useful…'

[You have chosen L…]
