Chapter 16 - Demonic Heart that fulfils desires

On his left hand, a key had appeared, blue in color and sleek and demonic in design. On his right hand was some kind of tattoo that had appeared out of nowhere.

For a second, he didn't check what the key and tattoo were and instead checked a new attribute that had appeared within his Stats.

[Demonic Heart]

[Demons, too, are Mortal creatures and they cannot live forever. Their average longevity is around 30 years, and their longevity doesn't increase with increased evolution through Life Tiers or by eating souls. But if they attain a Demonic Heart within them, they can increase their longevity by following their desires.]

[Current Longevity: 33 Years]

[Current Desire:

Conquer Dona's Heart (Completed)

Conquer Dona's Body (Incomplete)

Reward: 3 Years of Longevity]

[The more longevity that a creature has, the better its charm will be to other creatures.]

With his golden eyes rather uncalm, Mark next checked the key, and information regarding it streamed into his head.

[Portal Key to the World of Supers]

[A Key that can open a teleportation portal to another world—World of Supers. This is gifted to the Demon, Marcus, by the Will of the Demon World itself. If he completes the mission assigned by the Will upon opening the portal, he will gain another key to another World and more rewards based on his work inside the World he is sent to.]

[Highest Powers in the World of Supers: Tier 3]

[Warning: You cannot return from that world before completing the Mission you will be given upon entering the Portal.]

"So the blue portals I saw yesterday indeed…" Mark said, "was a teleportation method. Inconceivable!"

And a portal to another world?

His blood boiled inside him, and Mark felt the urge to try, but he kept the thought at bay.

The strongest powers in that world were Tier 3, and he was barely…

[Tier 0—Demonling].

Wasn't heading out there basically suicide?

The key could be used when he was strong enough.

Dona rubbed her face against him, and Mark caressed her head to calm her down. His gaze full of curiosity, he looked at the tattoo on his hand—the second gift by the Will of the Demon World—and the violet screen blurred in his mind.

[Seal of Destiny]

[A soul-bond Unique Treasure created by the Will of the Demon World. It can help a Demon steal one Demonic Trick of their choice from other Demons or other creatures in general by storing their Soul within you. The stolen Trick would grow stronger with the Demon.]

[Limitation:

1. Can only be used once.

2. It doesn't work on Angelic Blessings (innate powers of Angels)

3. It only works on creatures that had been killed by Marcus.]

Golden eyes twinkled, and Mark grinned.

Awesome.

"But I have to find someone actually worthy for this, though…"

There was bound to be someone out there with a ridiculous ability, and Mark couldn't wait to steal it. Minotaurs, Heart Demons, Incubus. All of those creatures alone had unique powers that he hungered for, and he had not seen the world at all for more varieties.

Who knows what kind of monsters were hidden in the deep?

The last was a language blessing. He didn't feel like he had learned any new language, sure but he guessed it would take effect when he needed it.

Truly, this had been a lucky day.

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, his ears perked up suddenly, and he heard muffled footsteps from the distance. His gaze moved.

A long shadow waded through the forest towards the river, and Dona became immediately frightened. She growled softly at it and stood up instinctively.

Mark's golden eyes glared at the Demonic Yak as it walked closer. His eyes were calm. This was nothing but a tiny beast, an insignificant character. The little thing didn't even have a Demonic Trick.

Weak.

Trash.

As it reached close, Dona was heaving, and the snakeskin covering her chest kept rising and falling. With a thought, Mark used all of his remaining Soul Spheres on his Physique, and it was as if a thunderbolt had appeared on his spine.

The bolt spasmed, it shook his spine, it traveled a whole circuit within him. Biting out cold smoke from his mouth, his golden eyes gazed at the enemy calmly.

"Grrrr!" Dona growled at the Demonic Yak, and it looked at her with menacing, cold eyes.

Its thick brown fur ruffled in the air as it walked intimidatingly closer. Dona unconsciously took out her fireball ability, and fire brightened all over her arms.

But as it walked closer, she couldn't help but take a step back, and doing that, she stumbled against something that seemed like a wall. She couldn't move a step backward.

A bit frightened, she looked back and immediately wanted to run away for a second. But soon enough, she felt a firm hand rest above her head and pat her comfortingly.

Compared to the 4-meter tall yak that headed toward them, the two-meter-tall red-skinned demon looked small, but his gaze was much more intense. Even the Demonic Yak stopped in its tracks and warily looked at the youth.

Mark smiled.

Dona took his hand, and seeing the Yak had stopped in its track, she tried to run away with him in tow, but she halted in her tracks as she felt the immense strength that held her back. He was just placing his hand on her, but that alone kept her unmoving.

Confused, she looked back at Mark, and he pulled her into his embrace.

She struggled around and growled in nervousness, but Mark calmly looked at the Demonic Yak.

His golden eyes glittered. Mental Power at the Tier 0 Pinnacle level crushed the medium-level barrier and entered its mind like a cold knife. Its core belief was one single thing—to not be killed by enemies.

These demons really were stupid creatures.

"Kneel. Kill yourself."

Its eyes grew rigid, and it slumped down. The massive form was now just as tall as Mark, merely about 2 meters or so. It sank its own sharp claws into its chest, and as blood spluttered out, it dug out a beating, humongous heart, then fell down miserably.

The heart fell near Mark's leg.

It killed itself. An enemy didn't kill it.

Dona was stunned beyond belief, and her growl dragged, "G..r…r."

Mark gently took her jaw and made her look at himself. She looked at him with disbelief; her 1.7-meter-tall self felt tiny before him, and hidden in his embrace, she could hear the thundering of his demonic heart.

Thud.

Thud!

Thud!!!

She immediately breathed heavily, her whole stand cramped up.

He lifted her chin with his hand and pressed his lips against hers. She was confused and didn't know what to do, but his tongue slithered into her mouth and danced with her delicate tongue.

She was instinctively about to bite, but the hand still on her chin kept her from doing that, and he kissed her until she started to reciprocate by herself. She was clumsy at first, but soon enough, her tongue was rolling around his like a masterful warrior, and Mark could say with confidence.

His first kiss was extremely memorable.

They parted, and Dona looked at him with wide, curious eyes.

Once again, he began to kiss her, and this time, she had a way better knowledge of it, and this kiss was much deeper. She tasted like fire.

[Killed a Demonic Yak—Soul Sphere has been automatically absorbed into the host's Soul Space.]

[+7]

[Total Number of Souls: 7]

He wanted to recheck it all, but Dona didn't let him do that and continued kissing him wildly. She seemed to have liked it very much. To play catch with her mate's tongue.

Subarashi.

And very cringely so.
