Leaving the lodge with a pensive look, Pei Ge got in Egger's car.
Listless as a frostbitten tomato, she stared at the scenery outside the window.
"Mommy, are you alright? You look… sad."
Seeing her like this, the kids sitting next to her became worried.
She gathered her wits and lowered her head upon hearing her children's worried query.
"Mommy isn't. I'm just thinking about something…"
She gently patted the kids on their heads.
"But you look truly upset!" mumbled her daughter, looking naïve.
"I'm really not!"
She grinned at her baby girl. After reassuring them, she looked up at the man in the passenger seat.
"What are you trying to do? Why did you bring my kids here without my permission?"
The man looked at her calmly.
"Don't be angry; I'm just unable to do anything about these two pestering me, so I brought them with me."
The two children defended him.
